My name is Viktor Lorincz. I was born in Budapest in October, 1973. (Rocktober ) I am a musician, basically bass guitarist, but I play electric guitar, and also compose and write music. I have been playing the bass guitar since 1990. I have been learning music only in autodidacta way, I have never learned music from teachers. (I am not too proud of this.) I have played with lots of very good Hungarian musicians, so I got a lot of inspiration and knowledge from them. The last 5-6 years was the most successful period for developing my bass knowledge, because I started to learn other playing techniques, those I had not used before. My favourite style of music is the Rock, but I like the jazz rock, and funky styles as well. I saw and heard lots of good bass guitarists on the youtube channel, and I tried to learn a lot from them. I don’t have any sponsors and contracts with anyone, but I have nice family, and some good friends! I am studio bass guitarist, so I have worked with lot of Hungarian musicians, and I played on some Hungarian CD’s.
My bass solo: Boomerang Bass solo
It was made for Guitar competition of NeoFm Boomerang Radio Show (morning radio show).
The radio show made and shared the drum track, and the task was playing own live guitar solo with electric guitar for this drum track. Originally, this competition was made for Hungarian young guitarists, not studio bass guitarists, but I thought the bass guitar is electric guitar as well… It was a joke, but I sent it to the radio, and I shared it on the youtube channel. I prefered this competition, because lots of guitarists could play on one of the biggest Hungarian radio… After that my solo became more and more successful, and I recognised more than 2500 share on the facebook channel. I have got lots of gratulations and e-mails, and invitations. With this solo I became more popular bassist.
Few years ago I decided that, I try to adapt to bass guitar the Hungarian Anthem, and the nicest Hungarian folk songs. This work is on progress, but some works are ready and I shared them with everyone:
I tried to cover my favourite bass themes, because I would like to inspire all bass guitarists, I think, there is nothing impossible to play.
These covers were made by my own playing style, so they are not like the original songs:
It has my own story: When I heard this song first, I was young, and I didn’t know who was the fenomen bass player who was playing. My Brother recorded this song with casette recorder from the radio. I was beginner bass guitar player, and I didn’t know how I should play like Jeff. I was listening a lot this song and only enjoyed it. (I still have that casette!)
About in 2007, I tried to play it again, and I could play it by my style, but my fingers are not as long as Jeffs. It was very good feeling to me, and I felt that there is nothing impossible to play, just I have to listen good bassist’s songs, and have to practice a lot.
My recording has some mistakes, but I wanted to share it to everyone.
I am member of Billy Idol Tribute Band (this band name will be changed), all members are my friends.
